The objective of the company is to use technology and connectedness to spread the Gospel primarily through and to the millennial population of Christians and non-believers alike. The concept of gathering to disperse is the brainchild of Meisha Guild.  She recognized a void in how millennials “do church” and discovered a method of addressing the void with the intention to fill it.

The name, Salt and Light came from the creative mind of Wanda Bryce who was directly inspired by Matthew 5:13-16, which gives a direct order for Christians to be the light and flavor of the land without apology. The name of the company serves as a constant nudge to believers to shine bright while bringing the love, light and peace of Christ and the Gospel while simultaneously being the flavor which balances and keeps the world palatable.

Our mission is precisely the mandate Christ gave in Mark 16:15, which is to, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” also as He stated in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age”.

Salt and Light will use a gather to disperse approach specifically among and with millennials. What this means is that the company’s niche is the bringing together of the most misunderstood, underappreciated and most complex group in society to fellowship and learn the wisdom of Christ to effectively become witnesses of Christ. We believe that church as usual will not solve our society’s sin issue therefore, we have devised an innovative and refreshing way to hold firm to the truth of the Gospel while taking it to the least likely people and places. We do so through a series of event planning, event productions and organizations which is all funnel through The Salt and Light App.

We understand that in this new age, if you need something; guaranteed there’s an app for it so we have made the decision to physically connect people with a virtual initiative. The Salt and Light App acts as a hub for Christ-centered people, specifically millennials but not limited to, to do everything from host events to send event invitations to creating virtual and physical Bible study and book club meetups to providing fasting recipes, tips and dietary limitations along with scriptural support and references via our explore tab.

There are approximately seven billion people living in the world and of the seven billion at least five billion have cell-phones. For too long, the church has been trying to bring people into its four walls, we believe it is time for the church to go where the people are and that’s in their pockets. Apple and Google have done an incredible job at marketing various apps by hosting them on their Operating Systems and we look to join the ranks of those other companies using the prowess of technology to spread their message.
